Video and Audio Freezing with two Hauppauge PVR-500

Microsoft Windows

I just recently installed another Hauppauge PVR-500. After installing
the second card, audio and video seems to be jumpy. I thought it might
be my hard drive activity. However when nothing is currently being
recorded, TV video and audio still freezes. When I only had one card,
I didn't have the problem except when a TV program was starting to
record (which I really didn't care too much about). I thought my
hardware would be good enough to support multiple cards, but I don't
know.

I currently have:
(1)ECS motherboard with Intel 920 Processor
(1) 1GB DDR2 Memory
(1) 300 GB Seagate SATA II HDD (OS)
(2) 500 GB Seagate SATA II HDD (Data)
(1) 6600GT Video Card
(2) Hauppauge PVR-500

Does anyone have any ideas. Do I need more memory?

You have 4 tuners! MCE 2005 can only have 2 analog tuners, now there is a
reg hack for more than two tuners in MCE.
I've actually already did the registry hack and I'm able to use all 4
tuners. My problem is the video/audio freezing about every 3-5 minutes.
Ok does it only happen on live TV or does the same problem happen on recoerd
TV?
It happens on both live and recorded. During live TV, the video and
audio seems to pause and then comes back about 2 seconds later. While
watching recorded TV, the video pauses and the audio stutters (sounds
like Max Headroom) or is choppy.
1. Try defrag the HDD.
2. Try uninstalling the dvd decoder then reinstalling it.
3. If the recorded TV shows are new (after installing the other 500 mce)
check the TV tuner driver
http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/mce/mce_cd_31e.zip .

4. make sure you have WatchOrder and RecordOrder set right in the registry.

WatchOrder needs to be set to:
tuner A = "WatchOrder"=dword:00000000
tuner B = "WatchOrder"=dword:00000001
tuner C = "WatchOrder"=dword:00000002
tuner D = "WatchOrder"=dword:00000003
RecordOrder needs to be set to:
tuner A = " RecordOrder "=dword:00000000
tuner B = " RecordOrder "=dword:00000001
tuner C = " RecordOrder "=dword:00000002
tuner D = " RecordOrder "=dword:00000003
I did the above 4 steps and now I still get the jerky video and audio,
plus I do not get any video on the 3 & 4 tuners. I do get audio, but
no video. According to the thing I read the watch order was the
inverse
of what you said. I currently have it setup like you stated though.
Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks!
